Averile Ryder Reward Specialists was established in August 1999 and has extensive experience in drafting job descriptions / profiles / families, grading jobs using the Paterson System of Job Evaluation, matching and benchmarking jobs to the relevant salary surveys, giving advice on organization structures, proposing reward strategies and in carrying out industry related sector or club salary surveys. We also work extensive with the Boards of Directors and Remuneration Committees and propose cost effective remuneration strategies. Our mission is to become the largest remuneration consulting organisation for the non-profit Sector not only for South Africa but for the Sub-Sahara Africa Region as well.

Prior to starting her own Human Resources / Remuneration Consultancy business in 1992 she enjoyed a successful career with Unilever as a Human Resources Manager for a number of their companies in Gauteng. Prior to joining Unilever she worked for the Urban Foundation and was tasked with drafting the first democratic non racial human resources policies and procedures manual. She has also lectured for the numerous tertiary education institutions and the IPM in human resources and reward and was also the managing tutor for a number of the IPM correspondence subjects / course materials. Averile has and and still consults to a large variety of organizations and has written numerous articles which have been published in various newspapers and human resource journals.
Averile is a also a faculty member with Worldatwork. She is one of three accredited trainers in South Africa for the Worldatwork Global Remuneration Professional courses, run through the South African Reward Association (SARA) and prior to relocating to Johannesburg during 2008 was Vice Chairman and Chairperson respectively for the SARA KZN Branch and Durban Chamber Human Resources Committee
