The ARGRS - July 2018 NPO - Salary Survey Report covers seventy-six (76) NPO participant organisations, over 300 benchmark role salary tables, salaries by grades tables, and over 7 000 employees, employed in the NPO Sector in South Africa. All compensation levels have been analysed exhaustively into Paterson Broad Bands and Single Grades. In addition, we have included correlation equivalents for Peromnes, Task and Hay for each role benchmark position and have analysed the compensation levels into lower, median and upper quartiles and averages as follows:

Annual Guaranteed Pay: basic salary, the value of all cash and non-cash benefits and allowances and guaranteed total compensation levels;
Annual Variable Pay: the value of performance incentive bonus “caps”;
Annual “total-cost-to-company”: the total value of all guaranteed and variable pay; and
For Senior Management and Executive Positions data is also sorted in accordance with the NGO Sector and Organisation Size Parameters

Salaries by grade tables are also included for Paterson broad and single grades for ALL occupational families. In addition, salaries by grade tables are also included for community social services, legal, medical / health care, training, development and education occupational families.

In addition, we have also reported on the following human resource practices for the NPO Sector in South Africa:

Preamble and introduction, the link between salary increases and inflation, survey sample and data source, remuneration trends, performance incentive pay, work related allowances, working hours, normal annual leave entitlements, additional annual leave entitlements based on length of service criteria, sabbatical and / or “once off” additional leave, additional annual leave during the Christmas / new year shut down period, maternity leave, family responsibility leave, normal, and extended sick leave benefits on full or reduced pay, exam and study leave. In addition an analysis of employer provided “good practice” cash and non-cash benefits / allowances pay practices and remuneration paid to NED – non-executive directors are also included
